The Elijah House and shepherd House at Sabbath Creek: Pastoral Family Retreat Center

We know how hard pastors and missionaries work and how they need a break. They need Sabbath rest like all of us. We want to help ministers and missionaries get the time away they need. We provide the use of a three bedroom house on the Central Coast of California, and recently added a three bedroom house that is much larger and can host about 12 people, in the centrally located town of Atascadero, available year round for a minimal donation for pastors and missionaries. This is a place for your whole family! Bring the kids and have a sabbath! Reservations are made through Pastor Wes Thompson. We want those who minister to get the rest, retreat, sabbatical, vacation, and renewal needed to continue to minister. This is our way to be able to minister to them.

The process is easy: contact Pastor Wes with the dates you have in mind. Donations are made through our donate link above. Do not send donations until reservations are confirmed.

Elijah House

The Elijah House is a beautiful 3 bedroom ranch style house. Sleeps a maximum of 8 people. The house has all the amenities you'd expect as well as a pool for your enjoyment, currently closed for repairs. It is located 20 mins away from some of the best beaches on the Central Coast of California. Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria are all a short drive with a wide variety of different types of beaches. Additionally, there are amazing hiking trails all around and a few right outside the door! If you are looking for some site seeing you don't want to miss the elephant seals or Hearst Castle. You can almost find a farmers market every day of the week in one of the close by towns! If you are looking for a pilgrimage you might want to check out the California missions near by and take the tour at the Lompoc mission for a deeper appreciation of the early mission system.

How to make a reservation

Contact Pastor Wes via wes@dovecreekchurch.org and request the dates you would like.

He will correspond with you and discuss the donation amount and other items. One item will be a pool waiver needed to be signed.

Once your dates are confirmed submit your donation.

Shepherd House

The Shepherd House is a beautiful 3 bedroom ranch style house. It is a large house. Has a huge open floor plan great for family reunions or small groups. Sleeps a maximum of 12 people. The house has all the amenities you'd expect. It is located 20 mins away from some of the best beaches on the Central Coast of California.
